Merry Christmas

Found this pretty Picture and I thought I would share it.

Hello

Life has been a little crazy. Try to get Christmas shopping done, work has been very busy, and we found out that we will start our new positions in Neenah, WI on March 1, 2006. We have received our relocation confirmation email, but we are still waiting on the official offer letter. I spoke to the hiring manager and she said we should see it a few days. Its just a little stressful. We are both very excited about our new positions. I'll be doing material planning and Mark will be doing scheduling finished product. One thing we have learned from talking to many people in these positions, that KC is working very hard to make all planning positions an eight hours a day job. Were currently planners are working any where from 8 to 14 hours a day. We found out that the whole planning department is going through restructure to make it possible so all planners work to 8 hours. I like that a lot. I have no problem working long hours I just can't do all the time. With Crohn's my body starts to wear down and then I'm worthless.

We have almost all of our shopping done, we just have to buy one present for a cat Annie and I have to get Mark a few stocking stuffers.

I just saw on T.V. that Denver, CO is having a blizzard. Mark said "That looks fun." I told him you better get ready for Wisconsin :) He also stated he can't wait to get a snowblower. It must be a man thing.

Not much more going on around here.

Merry Christmas

Baptist Service

On November 19th, Mark and I went to a Baptist Church and Sunday School with our friends Gina and Nick. We did like like the service a lot and were pretty supraised that service was not shoveing things down your throat. I did have a some pre-thoughts of what the Baptist Church was about. What I don't like about the the Baptist religion is that every church has its own beliefs. For instance one Baptist church will be against drinking and dancing and the next will be believe drinking and dancing are ok.

Mark and and I have decided to try the United Methodist Church again. We felt so comfortable and they were very welcoming. They also have a lot of programs we can get involved in.

Christmas Shopping

I hate to admit this but Mark and I have not started Christmas shopping. I believe we will go this weekend, but I'm not 100% sure. The whole thing about Christmas shopping is that it is always way to crazy on the weekends and I really do not like to deal with the crowds. People be come very rude and mean during the Christmas season. Which is very odd to me since this is the season for sharing and caring. I think many people have lost the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is not about the gifts, its about the birth of Jesus Christmas Our Savior. Well enough about me being upset that people are nasty during this season verus being jolly. I hope everyone has a Happy and Blessed Holiday.

Under the weather...

Sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile, I was under the weather all last week. When I returned from Thanksgiving with my family I was sicker than a dog. I went to work and came home and went to bed. I feel better now.

I had a great time at Thanksgiving. It was great to see my whole family. I really enjoyed seeing my aunt and cousin.

This past weekend Mark and I put up our Christmas tree and decorated the house. On Saturday night my friends Regina and Rachel came over and we made Christmas cookies. It was such a great time.

Lutheran Service

Sorry it took us so long to post...

Sunday, Mark and I visited St. John Lutheran Church. I have always heard that the Lurtheran and Catholic Churches were very similar, but I was amazed as how similar they were. We both enjoyed the service but here are our thoughts:

Beth's
1. Parish much older and not many programs for married couples
2. Very welcoming and friendly
3. Gospel -- I didn't get that feeling I was close to God.

Mark's
1. Very welcoming
2. Gospel -- not the calling I was looking for
3. Liked Lutheran religion, but not this church.

Next week not sure where we will go.

Midweek

Just wanted to write a little bite tonight. I always feel a little better and relax after I blog. As many of you know Mark and I work for Kimblery-Clark Corp. Yep the Kleenex company or if you are a mom or dad you may know us a the Huggies people. Trust me I'm not hurt if you do not use Huggies. :) I have also heard about all the negatives and positive about Huggies.

Yesterday was a little stressful because it was end of month and being in transportation the pressure is on to get all orders shipped and if they do not ship then you spend the first half the next day justifying why the carrier did not pickup the load. Thanks goodness I only had one load left out of the 3 facilities that I support. Today wasn't to bad because it only took me 30 minutes to justified my load. However, Mark had few more than me left behind so he was justifying a little longer to his Team Leader. I do feel bad for Mark because he supports the number 1 or 2 hardest (depending on what factors you are viewing) facilities in the KC network. Mark actually is know as the best analyst in Knoxville. I'm so proud of him. :)

Mark and I being talking about transferring to Neenah, WI where Kimberly-Clark's North American Consumer product headquarters are located. Our Team Leaders have given us the go ahead to start reviewing available positions, however we can't relocate until 1st quarter of next year. That's fine with us, but I'm a little torn on my next position. I have always thought that I would go into planning a production line for one of the many consumer products that KC makes, but now I think I might want to distribution. I don't know much about either position, but I do know that planning takes more commitment and can take a lot of your free time. For example calls in the middle of the night, due to a machine going down and now you must direct the facility on what to do next. I'm just not sure I want my personal time to be invaded. I have always thought that once you leave the office, your work does not come home. But I also want to be the boss, and KC is HUGE on the idea of all of their Team Leaders having planning experience. Distribution seem to be the type of job that when you go home, no one will be calling to ask for direction. I know I need to make a decision on what I want to do next and I need to stick with that decision.

Here's the next wrench in my master plan. Mark and I want children. I'm not worried about me, but Mark just turned 35 and not that is old, because it's not, but I don't want Mark to be 90 when his kids graduate from college. I have been putting all these different plans together to find out which plan with give me the most career and family satisfaction. I been doing this the last 3 months and I just haven't figured out the prefect plan. I know that there is no such thing as perfect, but I want the best plan as possible. I also know that things do not always go as planned. I have asked for guidence from Him and I know he will guide me in the right direction, I just need to let go of the wheel.

So keep us in your thoughts as Mark and I start making these life choices for our future.
Have a wonderful night.

Sunday Morning Service

As I told you last week Mark and I having been searching for the correct Church for us. This week we attended the Fountain City United Methodist Church. We were going to attend the United Methodist in downtown Knoxville, but decided on trying Fountain City United Methodist because it is only 4 blocks from our home. Here are our thoughts about today's service;

Beth's thoughts:
1. Very comfortable and welcoming
2. Very good gospel
3. Bulletin showed many different programs that we could become involved in.

Mark's thoughts:
1. Location very convenient
2. Woman pastor was different than want I'm use to, but very good.
3. Service was very comfortable, since I grew up Methodist.

We both agreed that we could return to this Church and attend Sunday services.
Next week we will attend a Lutheran Church in our attempt to find the right church for us.

Autumn in the Smokey Mountains!

Today, Mark and I went to the Smokey Mountains to see the fall colors. We did this last year and loved it so much we decided to do it again. We rode the Ober Gatlinburg Tram, then we took the ski lift to the top of Mt. Harrision, which is 3590 ft above sea level. Its so pretty up there and they have a Bluegrass Band playing while you look over the moutain. Mark and I both agreed that this year's colors were prettier than last year.

The top two pictures we took while at the top of Mt. Harrison. The picture of Mark and I was a picture that Ober Gatlinburg provides for a small fee. We bought it last year, so I had to have it this year too. :)

We also went and drove through the mountains. Mark was going to take me to Cades Cove, but when we got to the sign it said would take 2 to 3 hours to do the whole loop. We decided not to do it, because it would be getting dark soon. The drive was well worth it. We didn't see any wildlife, but once again the colors were absolutely beautiful.

Sunday

Today Mark and I went to church for the first time as a married coupled. We have been struggling on what religion we want to practice. Mark was raised as Methodist and I was raised Catholic. We both felt that its not fair to pressure the other to convert to a religion that didn't feel right. To solve this we decided that we would visit all types of denominations to find the correct church and beliefs for us as a couple. We realize that WE both need to to feel comfortable in the church's beliefs. This Sunday we went to a Catholic Church in downtown Knoxville.

Beth's Thoughts:
1. Parish was an older generation
2. Good Gospel
3. Felt a little out of place

Mark's Thoughts:
1. Reminded me of uptight Methodist Service
2. Good Gospel
3. Kneeing not my cup of tea :)

I told Mark that there was a new Catholic Church on the westside of Knoxville and before we totally rule out the Catholic Church we should visit it to see if it is a younger parish.

Next week we are going to visit the United Methodist Church downtown Knoxville.

Stay tune to see our thoughts....

Saturday Night!

Mark and I had two other couples over for dinner. We crave pumpkins and made carmel apples. We had such a great time. Here is a picture of the pumpkins that we carved. Our freinds Rachel and Marc craved the cat. Mark and I craved the spider and our other friends Gina and Nick craved their name "The Black's". This is what we now do for a weekend outing. Which I must say I enjoy hanging with my freinds then going to the bars:).
