Jackson was 6 weeks old yesterday. He weighs 12 lbs and 4 oz. He can not fit into his 0-3 months clothes. The only 0-3 months he can wear still are some PJs and onesies. I'm working on getting Jackson on a schedule. Its hard and frustrating to get him to sleep at the same time everyday. See I need to have a schedule or I feel out of control. I figure I better start working on getting him into a routine so when I go back to work its easier on me and him in the morning. The outfit that Jackson is wearing says it is 3 months. It fits him perfectly. Don't you love his facial expressions?

Bald Eagles
When Jen and Rich came to see Jackson I took them to see the Bald Eagles. Here are a few pictures. If you can not tell I'm pretty amazed with the Bald Eagles. I could watch them all day long. Look how big the nest is. I took these pictures with my camera and they turned out pretty well. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

A Perfect Mother's Day
Today has been a perfect day. Mark and Jackson took me to a wonderful Mother's Day Brunch. The Brunch gave all moms a $15 dollar gift certificate to a Spa and a Carnation. I ate until I could not eat anymore. My present from my boys was a Past, Present, and Future Necklace. It is very pretty and I love it. I'm wearing it in the pictures. Then Mark and Jackson took me to see a Bald Eagles nest and a Red Fox that live behind one of Kimberly-Clark's Office Buildings. Mark brought binoculars and we were able to see the baby Bald Eagle poke its head out of the nest and flap its wings. It was awesome. The Red Fox was so pretty. Then we came home and just relaxed as a family.

Mother's Day
This is my first Mother's Day and its a honor to be a mom. Being a mom is everything and more than I wanted. Being a mom is challenging, but it is so worth. I melt every time I look at Jackson. The love that you have for your child is overwhelming. I'm amazed at that feeling. People always said you do not know that feeling until you have a child. That is the truth. Jackson is the sparkle in my eye. One of my favorite things so far about being a mom is in the morning when I go into Jackson's room to get him up for the day. I go in and he is crying and as soon as I start talking to him he starts to calm down. Then when I say "Good Morning sweetheart" he gives that half grin and I just melt. I love those moments. Another favorite thing I love, is watching Jackson and daddy play. Jackson just perks when Mark talks and that melts my heart also. It seems these days that I'm a softy and I am fine with that. Having Jackson really completes my world. I'm truly bless to have Jackson and I would not change my world for anything.
5 Weeks Old
Look at Jackson!!! He is 5 weeks old. He is so darn cute! The UT apparel is for his Daddy. Jackson weighs 11 lbs 9.9 oz. The Go-Go Juice is really working. :)

1 Month, Mother's Day Present, New hair cut
Jackson is now 1 month old. I can not believe it. It seems like yesterday I had him. He is into a routine and it actually works great for me. Jackson gets up at 0130am then again at 530am. When I go back to work I'll be getting up at 0530 to feed him and get ready for work so in my mind he is only getting up once in the middle of the night.

Mark has been feeding him Jackson as we have tried out the bottle with him and it did not phase Jackson. I also fed Jackson a bottle the other day and Jackson didn't even notice. Now Mark feeds Jackson 0530 so I can get a little more sleep. I'm thinking Jackson really doesn't care how he gets his milk as long as he gets it. :)
Thursday at Mommy and Me Jackson weighed 10lbs 14.8 oz. He is growing!!!! He also made me a pot for Mother's Day. They took his hands and painted blue paint on them then placed his hands a on pot. Then the instructor drew a butterfly body in between his hands. I just love it!

On Saturday we went and got Jackson's 1 month picture. They turned out nice. Once they are uploaded to the Internet I'll send the links so you can go and look at them.
I got a new hair cut! I was so over due. I went back to a bob, but this is an updated bob as I do have a few layers. I also put some blonde highlights in my hair. I love my new hair cut and color. Not sure if you can tell from the picture below but it is a lot shorter. Don't you love Jackson's face! He was not a happier camper because I was making him do tummy time!

Video of Jackson!
Here is a video of Jackson in his swing. You can hear him coo a little. I'm sorry but Jackson is so darn cute! This is the first video that I have taken of Jackson, sorry if it is a little shaky. I probably won't be a videographer any time soon.
I can not believe he will be 4 weeks old tomorrow! Where has the time gone!
New Scrapbook Pages
Finally found time to scrapbook. I have 3 more pages I want to do then I am caught up. I'm pretty happy how these pages turned out. Here are a few pictures of the pages. The first photo that says Happy Birthday to me, is a book that the hospital put together that has all the important dates and times of when Jackson received his first shots, bath, and hearing test. We really liked that the hospital did that for us. The other pages are Jackson's first bath at home and then I did a page of Mark and a page of me. These are all going into Jackson's baby book. Hope you enjoy!

Salsa Dancing, Go-Go Juice, Fussy Baby, and Pics of Jackson
We went to Mommy and Me yesterday and learned to Salsa dance. I think I will be on next season of Dancing with the Stars. (HA HA). Jackson slept through the whole lesson, but mommy's legs and tummy are sore today. Last night we taught Mark to Salsa dance and now he and Jackson can dance together. It was a lot of fun!
Go-Go Juice is what we call Jackson's milk. Lets just say little man loves his go-go juice as he now weighs 10 lbs. 3.7 oz. He isn't missing and meals. :)
Jackson has a fussy time of 630-830 every night :( We are learning to do things he loves during that time frame. We do tummy time, go for a walk, bath time and we vacuum and he helps with laundry. Not sure if he likes his chores, but it helps mommy and daddy because he gets quiet! If those do not work then mommy and daddy swaddle him and bounces and shhhes him. That normally works.
And of course new pictures of Jackson!

2 Week Check Up
Today Jackson had his 2 week check up. He now weighs 9lbs. 7.5oz and is 21 inches long. The doctor is very happy with his weight gain and so is mommy and daddy. Jackson was a very good boy at the doctor's office. He barely woke up to see the doctor.
I need some advice...
The doctor asked us if Jackson was sleeping in our room. Mark and I decide it was best for Jackson to sleep in his own room. We have not once brought him into our room to sleep. The doctor then tells us that we should consider having Jackson sleep in our room as it helps reduce the chances of SIDS. The doctor says that when a baby is in the parents room the baby doesn't go into the deep, deep sleep b/c they senses the parents present. Now I am all confused on what to do. I'm scared to death of SIDS, but Jackson is doing a great job sleeping in his own room. Here's another issue -- If Jackson sleeps in our room then Mark would be woke up every time Jackson needs to eat and right now it works perfectly that I get up and nurse Jackson and Mark continues to sleep as he is working full time. Any advice on what to do would be appreciated.
Today Jackson and I also attended Mommy and Me at the hospital. It's a gathering for new moms to share their happy, sad, frustrated and need advice time. We like going b/c we get to interact with other new moms and receive great advice on how to handle things. Every week there is a topic and sometimes there are guess speakers. Next week Jackson and I will be learning how to Salsa mom's baby weight away :). I'll let you know what happens.
Last but not least a few new pictures of Jackson. The grandparents love to see pictures of Jackson. Here you go!

Look what the UPS man brought
Friday afternoon the UPS man brought two presents! Of course I had to open them ASAP. One present was from our cousins who sent the adorable outfit and the other present was from Regina and Nick Black, good friends from Knoxville. Here is a picture of the presents. Thanks Leanne and Boys! Thanks Regina and Nick!
I had a visitor this weekend!
Friday night Uncle Greg came to see me. Greg brought Jackson two toys; the General Lee and his first remote car. Jackson won't be able to play with these toys for another 2 years, but that's ok. I have put them up so Mark doesn't play with and break them. LOL Here are a few pictures of Greg and Jackson. FYI...Jackson's middle name is after his Uncle Greg :)

Bath Time
Tummy Time
Mark has started his first ritual with Jackson -- Tummy Time. Every night when Mark comes home from work he and Jackson enjoy a little tummy time. Jackson seems to like tummy time. We are only doing it for 5 to 10 minutes right now. I just love watching them be together. Of course the cats are involved in tummy time. Here are a few pictures of tummy time.

Jackson Gregory Lawson

Today is my due date, but no baby!
I can't explain how disappointed I am that Baby Lawson hasn't arrived. I understand that today is his due date, but I know he isn't going arrive as NOTHING is going on. I feel NOTHING! I feel like I felt in January, but a whole heck of lot bigger!!! I think doctor's should stop giving due dates, but due weeks!!!! I think that would be a lot better to deal with than an actual due date.
I decided to take today off as I didn't feel like going to work. I have no patience for KC and what they believe is/could be a crisis! I have my own crisis going on in my head and I need a day to myself. My crisis is I really want Baby Lawson to be born in March. I do not know why, but I do. I don't want to be induce to make that happen, but I'm tired of him kicking and sitting on my gallbladder. It hurts so bad when he touches it that I get tears in my eyes. I want him to come on his own, but the thought of being pregnant any longer makes me want to cry.
Up until this pass week, life being pregnant has be wonderful. I would do all of this again minus the gallbladder issue.
Well when Baby Lawson arrives Mark and I will let everyone know.
Talk soon!

Dr. Appt. Update 3/25
We went for our 39 week appointment and I'm still the same, 1CM and 50% effaced. Pretty much nothing going on. I'm sad, b/c I thought for sure something would have changed. Oh well he will arrive when he is ready.
We had to be put on the monitor this morning as I didn't feel him move all morning. Baby Lawson is fine. He must have been just relaxing this morning. The monitor showed I was have real contractions, but I didn't feel anything.
Our next appointment is 4/1/2008 if Baby Lawson doesn't arrive by then. I going to say because I do not want him born on April Fool's Day, he will decide that is when he is ready to arrive. I don't like April Fool's Day, I sure hope he comes before or just waits until 4/2.
