Long Weekend
I posted the other day that Jackson has a double ear infection. He started to act like himself last Wednesday so we thought he was on his way to getting back to normal. Then Friday night came and he got up 4 times. Saturday he was fussy and needy. Then Saturday night he got up 5 times. I told Mark enough is enough we taking him back to the doctors. Sunday morning Mark and I packed Jackson up and went to our doctors office. Sure enough his ear infections are no better than they were on Monday. The antibiotics that Jackson was given is not working. Doctor gave us another type to try. Today he has been so clingy and fussy. We feel horrible for him, as there is nothing Mark or I can do for him. I sure hope this antibiotics work.

When it rains, it pours!
When it rains in the Lawson household it pours!!!!
It all started last weekend Jackson was just a fussy and needy baby. He would wake up about 3 times a night. Then on Sunday morning he started pulling at his right ear. I just knew what that meant, he had a ear infection. Monday morning Mark took him to the Doctors while I went to the dentist and in deed he has not one ear infection, but two!!!
Then Monday afternoon I had to take my cat puddy to the vet. She decided to stop eating over the weekend. The vet took one look at her ears and said, she is a very sick kitty as she is very jaundice. . I started crying because I knew that she would recover from it. We did blood work and confirmed her liver was failing. Doctor gave us special soft cat food to see if Puddy would eat and keep it down. It did not work. On Wednesday we had an ultrasound done on her liver to see what was going on. The vet could barely put pressure on Puddy, she would start meowing and groaning. We decide that we could not stand to see Puddy in pain, so we let her go to Kitty Heaven.
I believe that was the major events of the week!!!!

Guess who has two teeth???
When I got home last weekend from spending time with my aunt and cousin I gave Jackson a bath. I kept seeing something in his mouth and I was trying to get it out. Then I realized it was his tooth. Its the bottom tooth, then 4 days later Mark and I noticed another white spot. I put my finger in his mouth and sure enough another tooth. Jackson now has two teeth on the bottom that are sprouting through. :) Its funny to watch him because you can tell he his trying to figure out what those rough spots are.
Jackson is also starting to eat baby puff cereal and use his sippy cup. Check out the video of Jackson eating.

Swimming Clinic
Today Mark and I took Jackson to a free swimming Clinic at Swimtastic. http://www.swimtastic.com/ It's a swimming school in Menasha, WI, which is about 10 minutes from our house. Jackson just loved the pool. We had such a great time at the clinic that we have decided to attend the winter session that starts in January. We can't wait to take Jackson. Maybe he'll be the next Micheal Phelps. :)
I know this picture is blurry but Jackson is crawling on a mat in the water. He absolutely LOVED it!!!

Thankful
Sorry that I have been a little laxed on writing what I am thankful. Life has been busy at work this week. Plus I like to keep Jackson on a schedule so our lives are smooth. I have been thinking a lot about what I am thankful, just haven't had time to actually post my thoughts. Its Saturday morning and Jackson is down for his morning nap and Mark is also taking his cat nap. I decide that this would be a great opportunity to get caught up on my blog. :)
- Visiting my cousin and her family. It was great to be able to go and see her.
- Making cookies with my aunt and cousin and having girl talk! :)
- That I will have a new sister soon. Something I have been waiting for, for awhile. We love Auntie Em :)
- Mark for watching Jackson last night so I could go and have drinks with a co-worker
- No snow yet :)
- The presidential race is over
- Gas is now $1.98 in Wisconsin

We found Jackson like this, this morning 11/1. Guess it's time to lower the mattress. Good thing we still have the tent on his bed.

school. Is golf in his future???
Mark took this picture of Jackson last week. He was having such a great time in the tub. Plus he is such a cutie!!
New Blog Layout and Stuff
I just updated our blog layout. I was able to do because my cousin LeAnne found a website that has cool blog layouts. Thanks Lee!!!!
Also, My cousin has challenged me to reflect on what I am thankful and share it with everyone. SHe is doing this to ensure her family doesn't lose the true meaning of the Holiday Season. She says will be posting everyday, but I will be posting every week.
Here is what I'm thankful for this week.

Fall Bike Ride

Weather was absolutely beautiful today so we decide to take advantage of the weather and take family bike ride. We rode around the area for 2.5 hours. We stopped at the local park and played with Jackson. We took pictures of the fall colors. We had such a great time. Jackson really enjoyed being outside. Here are some pictures of our outing!

My Mother Style
My cousin had on her blog what her mother style is so I thought I would take the quiz to see what I am. I am ESTJ -- The "How-To" Mother I the the below really describes me.
Your type is: estj —The “How-To” Mother
“We’re the mothers you like to carpool with. Not only are we on time, we organize the driving schedule for everyone.”
Organized and comfortable being in charge, the ESTJ mother knows “how to” get things done, make things happen, and accomplish much on behalf of her children. Whether she is encouraging them to get involved in organized activities or talking with them about their personal concerns, children of the ESTJ mother learn “how to” succeed in life.
Upbeat and matter-of-fact, the ESTJ mother is intent on her children having the best. She puts her skills and talents to work to this end, from planning trips that supplement their studies to raising funds for new playground equipment. She is happiest when her efforts produce concrete results — children who try out for teams, participate in academic competitions, or are leaders among their peers.
The ESTJ mother runs a tight household. She is apt to have predictable expectations, consistent routines, standard procedures, and well-defined boundaries, all of which help her children feel protected and secure.

Jackson and Sierra
6 Months Old

Jackson is 6 months old!!! I can not believe how fast time has flown. It seems like just yesterday he was born. Today he went for his 6 month check up. He weighs 17 lbs 1 oz and is 27 inches long. The doctor said Jackson is growing perfectly. Jackson showed off for Dr. Riddlehoover. He had to show her how he can roll over and how he is pushing up on his hands and knees. She told us that he is developing great. Not only did Jackson got an ataboy, mommy did to for still breastfeeding while working full time. That was what I needed to keep going.
Doctor told us to introduce Jackson to veggies and fruits. Tonight for dinner is sweet potatoes and oatmeal. I made baby food for Jackson the other day so we are already to go. I hope Jackson is just as excited as Mark and I are. I have a feeling Jackson could care less - HAHA. I will try to take a few pictures of Jackson tonight.
Here are a few pictures of Jackson. I took them this today. Jackson is so cute!!!
We survived!!
Well Jackson and I made it without Mark. Let me tell you Jackson and I were sooooo happy to see Mark last Friday night. Jackson and I only had 1 melt down when we were by our self. I think that is awesome if I do say so myself. I could tell that Jackson noticed Mark being gone. He was just different, he won't take naps at daycare, which meant long nights at home because he was so tired and fussy. :( But over all it was fine!!!
I'm glad Mark doesn't have anymore business trips planned this year. :)

On our own!
This week Mark is on a business trip for work. He flies out Sunday night and comes home Friday night. This will be the first time Jackson and I are all by ourselves. I'm very nervous about this week. It will be very long as work is also very busy still dealing with the percussion of Hurricane Ike. I know we will make it through without Mark, but I know Jackson and I is going to miss him bunches!!!!
On top of Mark leaving this week, my Crohn's Disease has decided to act up. I was up all night in pain and I got sick to my stomach twice. I'm so tired today that I can tell that I'm not starting off on the right foot for this week.
Well I think that is about it.

Grandpa came and saw me!!!
Grandpa Barnes came and saw me this weekend. It was great to see him. He played with me on the floor and I showed him how I'm now pushing up on my hands and knees. I showed him how I love my Jumproo. He also went to the park with me, mommy, and daddy. I even feel asleep on in his arms. Thanks for coming and seeing me. Love ya!!!

Poor Jackson
Poor Jackson, he has his first earache. He has had a snotty nose for a whole week and it just wasn't getting any better. I called the doctor on Monday about his snotty nose and they said that there really isn't too much they could do for him. They gave me some suggestions and Mark and I tried them all week and the poor little guys just wasn't getting any better. This morning Jackson was just not himself. I knew there was something wrong with him. And at work today I just couldn't stop thinking about him. I kep thinking what if he takes a turn for the worst over the weekend, and i had to take him to the hospital. While at work I called the doctor's office and they were able to work us in. The doctor confirmed that we have a sick little boy with an earache. I just thought to myself " I'm glad I called because it could have been a very long weekend." We got some antibotics, so hopefully little man will be feeling better real soon.
Have a great weekend.

4 month check up
Today Jackson went to the doctor for his 4 month check up. He weighs a whopping 15.5 lbs and is 25 inches long. The doctor is very pleased with his growth. She said that he looked great and that he is such a wonderful baby. I agreed with her. :) Jackson did very well with the shots and so did his mommy. I only got 1 tear in my eye this time. I too have grown also:) Jackson was pretty fussy this morning after we got home from the doctors. He finally fell asleep at 12:30. Thank goodness!!! He was wearing me out. He didn't want to eat, or sleep, or play, or be held. All he wanted to was fuss and wiggle. I can't hold on to him when he is being a wiggle worm.
The doctor talked to us about beginning solids, but after she talked with us about our options, we decide to hold off until he is 6 month. She did tell us that some babies around 5 to 5.5 months need a little more than milk and if Jackson just doesn't seems full off of milk then its OK to start cereal. She said just remember once you start solids its just more work. I thought to myself more work, then he is waiting until I'm ready. Maybe that's selfish, but in my mind if he has survived and gained weigh for 4 months on just milk, then he can survive another 2 months. Plus I just want him to stay little. I'm not ready for him to be independent.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Mama Mia!!!!
Last night I went to the Movies with my friends Katie and Amanda and saw Mama Mia!!! If you like musicals you will like Mama Mia!! I loved it!! It was an all around great happy funny movie. It won't win awards, but its a great movie to go and see with your girlfriends!!!
Thank You!!
Mark and I want to say THANK YOU to Joan for babysitting Jackson Yesterday so we could finish up our landscaping project. We really really appreciate it!!! I could tell Jackson enjoyed hanging with Joan and Dave. Even though Mark and I worked while Joan watched Jackson we had a great time together. Just being able to focus on a conversation with each other was awesome. Once again Thanks Joan!!!
My cousin Leanne wrote on her blog about it takes a village to raise a child and that everyone should have their own village (which I agree). Joan you are in Mark and I's village.
Love,
Mark, Beth, and Jackson
