Cake Decorating

One thing I always wanted to learn is how to decorate cakes. I decide it was time to cross something off the bucket list...I signed up to learn how to decorate a cake. Here is my first attempt. Not great, but not bad for my first time. If I can get this to turn out I'll make this cake for Jackson's 2nd birthday. :)

Jackson's New Bed

Today Jackson got a new bed. He moved out of his crib to his toddler bed. It's a bittersweet moment for us, as we realize our baby is growing up.

We got Jackson a chalk board and he just loves it. He would spend hours playing with the chalk board if I let him. I just love letting Jackson be kid and explore...gives me an excuse to play with his toys! :)

Juli -- My Best Friend, Mom, Sister...A wonderful Woman

Juli and I go way back...I was 15 when I met Juli. She was my Cheerleading coach, then turned into one of my Best Friends. She has always been there for me. She has seen me at my worst and my best. Juli was the rock in high school that I needed. She kept me on a tight leash! I thank her for that.

Back in 2005 I received a phone call from Juli telling me that she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She fought and she won! Then last week I received that call I never wanted to get...She told me that the cancer is back and it's in her pelvic bone. She is only 42 years old! A mother of 5... this can't be happening, but as Juli told me God only gives you what you can handle. I guess God believes she can handle it. I know she can! She is one strong cookie!

Visit with Santa

This evening we took Jackson to see Santa at KC's Holiday Party. I was very shock how well Jackson did...he didn't love it, but he didn't care for it either. I guess that is better than him crying. Enjoy the picture!

Sledding

On Sunday we took Jackson sledding. This was the first time he went sledding. It was my first time in about 18 years. At the end of the hill Jackson would say more, more, more. It was too cute. We were out there for about 40 minutes. We had a blast!

Boys Shoveling

This past week we got a little bit more snow, so to get Jackson out of my hair Mark took him outside to help shovel. They seem to be a great team. Enjoy!

Blizzard Allison

Christmas Cookies

This weekend was very productive. We got our Christmas tree up and decorated. I have all my snowman decor out! We did a little bit of Christmas shopping for Jackson and made Christmas cookies. I think Jackson enjoyed making a mess more than actually helping with the cookies:) Here are a few pictures of our cookies.
